Exploring the Village

Cafe

My cousin runs the one cafe in the village. He offers traditionally prepared, fresh mint tea, coffee, juice, and soda as well as some goods for cooking. This is a great spot to watch the sunset as the shepherds bring their goats home. We often gather here to play guitar, sax and drums. The boy children join in to dance.

The Fields

Each family has their own plot of land down hill from the village. There are trails that wind under the shade of the carob, date, orange, pomegranate trees.

You may bump into the “water keeper” in his rubber boots and turban. Because of changing climate, many native tribes have run out of water and have been forced to leave the land and move into the cities. We are lucky to still have our natural spring and well.

Mountain Hike

You can walk up through the village into the mountains and see all of Morocco below. Bring painting supplies for landscape painting, notebook, a drum, an instrument or just climb up to the top to watch the sunset over Africa. Again, our village is safe, kind and free to you to roam.
